I just realized I forgot to mention another important thing in that post I made.
TAKE PHOTOS OF YOUR HOUSE!
On the inside and outside. Just stand in the middle of the room and take a shot of each wall, then move to the next room. Yes, even if you’re a renter or live in an apartment. No matter where you live, take photos.
If your house is damaged in the storm, those photos will be the evidence you use so your insurance company won’t be able to screw you over on repairs (or at least, it’ll make it harder for them…)
