It’s true and OP should say it.

It’s also tied up in classism/educational elitism, and it’s the same reason people claim fanworks, comics and graphic novels, rap, genre novels, graffiti, mixed media/new media works, and video games aren’t art.

Also entirely correct! People use “good taste” as a synonym for “appeal to privilege”, especially for erotic art and literature.
